As we approach the end of 2020 (thank goodness!), I thought it would be interesting to look back on the year. Despite the many, many challenges this year has brought, Unabridged does have some cause for celebration.
The Episodes
62 Total Episodes
52 Regular Episodes
2 Bonus Episodes
8 Teaching Tidbits
This feels like a triumph for sure! Despite the bizarre schedules, generalized anxiety, and overwhelming challenges, we were able to publish MORE than an episode a week.
Interviews
9 Total Guests
4 Authors(!)
We are so grateful to the 9 guests who appeared on Unabridged this year, including 4 amazing authors!
Book Club
12 Book Club Episodes
10 Fiction
2 Nonfiction
5 Young Adult
3 Romance
4 Literary Fiction
1 Novel in Verse
Looking back, we're pleased with the variety of books we covered in our Book Club episodes, which sometimes challenged us with a focus on difficult but important social issues and sometimes allowed us to escape for just a while.
Teaching
4 Regular Teaching Episodes
8 Teaching Tidbits
We refocused on our commitment to teaching, with regular episodes focused on teaching—these definitely shifted when we were all home in March!—and then the launch of our Teaching Tidbit episodes in August.
Buddy Reads
11 Buddy Reads
1 Buddy Watch
I am so thrilled with our fabulous IG community, including all of those people who have participated in our monthly buddy reads. Every month, I look forward to these thoughtful conversations and for the chance to connect with other readers.
Unabridged Ambassadors
5 Months of Ambassadors!
And finally, one of our most significant 2020 accomplishments is the launch of our Unabridged Ambassadors program. We are so thankful for these wonderful listeners who support us with ideas, promotion, and community. (You can learn more about the Ambassadors program here.)
